Art galleries in Canada, by city
Each city page lists the galleries and exhibition spaces we know of, sorted by type, with the address and the gallery's own website. Cities open one at a time, once their listings are complete enough to be useful. Before you go, our guide to visiting galleries covers typical hours, free admission times and openings.

By kind of space
Public galleries
Publicly funded galleries and art museums with permanent collections or a public exhibition mandate.
Artist-run centres
Non-profit spaces run by artists, usually showing contemporary and experimental work.
Commercial galleries
Galleries that represent artists and sell their work.
University galleries
Galleries run by a university or art school, open to the public.
Municipal galleries
Exhibition spaces run by a city, often in a city hall or civic building.
Co-op galleries
Galleries owned and staffed by their member artists.
No city has three of these on file yet; they are listed on each city page.
Non-profit spaces
Community and non-profit exhibition spaces that are not artist-run centres.
How we verify
Sources
Listings start from open data (OpenStreetMap, Wikidata and the artist-run centre associations), then each fact is checked against the gallery's own website. Every page lists its sources.
Dates
Each listing shows when its facts were last verified. Listings we have not checked yet say so, and we never fill a gap with a guess: a missing fact reads “Not listed”.
Corrections
Galleries change hours, addresses and policies. If something here is out of date, tell us and we will fix it.
